CLIMATE CONVERSATIONS
Tackling Climate Change is going to take a non-partisan, whole-of-government approach that holds corporate polluters accountable, supports people in making sustainable choices, and talks about the environment in a way that brings people together to take action. Research shows that the strongest motivator for people to take action and support policies that will slow down the overheating of our planet is the love for the next generation - a desire to protect the planet for our children and all those who come after us.
In communities across NH, people are waking up to the reality that the climate emergency is affecting every aspect of how we live our lives. This can prompt a lot of different reactions: denial, anger, frustration, despair, just to name a few. In Madison, NH, one Democratic activist has chosen to take those feelings head on, by fostering community conversations and leading trainings with THIS! Is What We Did, an organization created in response to the ultimate question: “What did you do about climate change?”
As a retired special educator, Sue knows how to talk with people from every walk of life. As a team member of THIS!, Sue helps people have effective conversations about climate change, move their money from the 4 worst banks, and coaches parents and caregivers on helping their young people cope with the climate crisis.
Carleigh is committed to supporting the work of activists like Sue and her colleagues at THIS! Is What We Did to sustain these conversations as the foundation for a livable future.
