Democracy isn’t dead yet! (a.k.a. “It’s just a flesh wound!”)

Carleigh joined activists from Seacoast Indivisible in Portsmouth to mark the day after Halloween with a protest against the Trump administration and GOP’s assault on American Democracy. As bleak as these times may seem, it is gatherings like this that help create hope and sustain a sense of possibility not just for the 2026 midterms, but for the weeks, months, and years after the next election.

Lots of honks, smiles, and waves from passersby!

Sue, the leader of the Seacoast Indivisible group, had a great piece of advice for anyone planning a visibility: “You don’t need a lot of people if you have costumes!”

Dressed as witches, ghosts, and the grim reaper, and carrying tombstones for the victims of Trump’s lawless, cruel, and corrupt agenda, the small crowd made a big impact on this beautiful fall day.
