BREAKING NEWS: Goodlander calls for Feds to Investigate Abuse at YDC

At 10am today, Representative Maggie Goodlander officially wrote to the United States Attorney for the District of New Hampshire Erin Creegan asking for an investigation of the Sununu Youth Development Center under the Civil Rights for Institutional Persons Act, or CRIPA.

I am glad to see that Representative Goodlander has taken the lead to address a decades-old tragedy. This is the first such action by any member of our federal delegation, and it is a step I have been advocating for over a year.

A federal investigation will not solve the problems at the YDC, but it is a necessary step towards justice for the thousands of survivors of abuse at the center as well as the children currently incarcerated there. Read the full article here.
