Merrimack Pride!

You are my sisters, friends, and family. You are my community, which is why I’m dedicated to showing up for you, on the campaign trail and in Congress.

What an uplifting day. I am so proud to stand alongside members of the LGBTQ+ community.

We are in such an unprecedented time. A moment in which so many are struggling to keep their heads above water, while people in power are content to watch.

LGBTQ+ people are being targeted in Concord and Washington. Republican politicians are passing laws designed to make you feel unsafe and afraid. They are passing laws to make you feel alone.

You are not alone. We are not alone.

I am ready to fight for you. Ready to protect our transgender youth.

Let me be clear: I will fight for full federal non discrimination protections for the community. We need these protections in all areas – in housing, employment, healthcare and in public.

I will fight for trans young people and their right to healthcare, to walk into schools and be treated with dignity.

I will fight for marriage equality. To pass an equality act and a trans bill of human rights.

Over the past year, I have traveled this state listening to LGBTQ+ Granite Staters, who are scared. Scared about their safety and scared wondering if they have a future here. I hear you and I’m with you. I know my job – to make sure the answer to both of those questions is yes.

In New Hampshire everyone has a place, and a right to live and be treated with dignity and respect.

Merrimack Pride, you showed up. And I will keep showing up for you; on the trail, in Congress, and every single day in between. Let’s protect our trans youth and let’s fight this fight together.
