Video: It’s Official!
Yesterday was an unforgettable day in this campaign. I officially filed my candidacy for Congress, but the paperwork wasn't what made it meaningful. It was the people.
As I walked down the hallway to the Secretary of State's office, I was met by volunteers, teachers, union leaders, parents, and kids lining the way. They were holding signs, cheering, and representing exactly the kind of campaign we're running for New Hampshire. Sixty-five supporters strong, it was the largest crowd of the candidate filing season.
If you listen to everyday Granite Staters, you’ll quickly realize that the divides in this country aren’t between regular people. They are between us and a political system that ignores us. That needs to change, and we are going to change it.
The people who stood with me yesterday came from different towns, political parties, and backgrounds from all across New Hampshire. We don’t agree on everything, but we’ve taken the time to talk, listen and learn from one another. We realize that if we want to build a better country, it has to start with us. When government listens, people show up. Yesterday was proof.
That’s what this campaign is all about — bringing all sorts of people from different backgrounds and walks of life together in pursuit of a common goal to build a better future for ourselves and our children.
Yesterday was a big day for our campaign, and I couldn’t be prouder to share that moment with so many people who have devoted their time and energy to building this campaign the right way. There was cheering in those hallways, excitement, and hope. And that’s what we are fighting for.
To every volunteer, every supporter, every person who showed up: thank you. I’m inspired and excited to continue forward in this campaign!
