Why I Love Talk Radio

I love to listen to The Sean Hannity Show. Okay, well… I donʼt love it. But when Iʼm on my way to an event and scrolling through the channels on my car radio, I often pause and listen because it canʼt hurt to know what folks on the other side of the political divide are talking about, right?

While he and I don’t see eye-to-eye on the issues facing our country, I love to imagine what I might say if he had me on as a guest. While most people put on a playlist or listen to the radio, I think about how best to articulate my plans for universal healthcare, fully funding our public schools, or securing the world from the threat of nuclear weapons.

Talking to people across the political spectrum doesn’t scare me. In fact, it is a part of my responsibility as a Congressional candidate to create plans for all Granite Staters. That’s why I love talk radio. Sitting down with smart people to talk about the issues that matter most to us. These sorts of discussions strengthen my convictions and force me to think in new ways.

On Friday, I sat down for a live interview at MaryAnnʼs Diner in Derry with self-proclaimed “New Hampshire Republican,” Jeff Chidester. It was my third talk radio interview in about a week!

We had a wide ranging conversation about social security, healthcare, and why so many NH voters register as “undeclared” rather than affiliate with a political party. You can check it out here and listen to my other radio interviews below.
