Protect our rights
Reproductive freedom and bodily autonomy are not negotiable. Carleigh will fight to protect the right to abortion, defend access to contraception, and oppose any attempt, state or federal, to roll back reproductive healthcare, including fighting to enshrine Roe v. Wade as federal law and repealing the discriminatory Hyde Amendment. No politician should stand between a person and their doctor.
Carleigh is running for Congress because everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, safe, and celebrated no matter who they are, where they live, or who they love.
As a mom, teacher, and local elected official, Carleigh knows that representation matters. she also knows that all too often, the rights we’ve fought for are the subject of debate and attack. That’s why she promises to fight for the LGBTQ+ community in Congress. Not just during Pride month, every single day.
I am deeply disturbed by the reports I am reading from the Sununu Youth Detention Center in Manchester, and it is long past time for federal authorities to step in and address the appalling lack of oversight and accountability by the relevant state agencies overseeing the facility and its staff.
Oliver-Velez exhorted us to share our stories and the stories of others who have fought, and sometimes died, for justice with our children. We must continue to connect, to build, and to move towards more healing, community, and justice in the world. In her words: “We have no excuse.”
Dr. King’s vision of the Beloved Community is a society grounded in justice, equal opportunity, and love for all people. It’s not merely about the absence of hatred or violence, but the presence of compassion, fairness, and respectful relationships across differences. In the Beloved Community, we work together to dismantle systems of racism, poverty, and exclusion and honor everyone's dignity.
Carleigh attends the "Good Trouble Rally" in Portsmouth where she met with local activists, listened to some great protest music, and reconnected with some of her day-one supporters. Protests and rallies like these have really taken off since Trump took office in January, and the momentum is growing for a people-powered democracy that respects human rights and the dignity of all people.
On Saturday, Carleigh joined the unveiling of the Black Heritage Trail marker at the Hampton Town Library, honoring the life of Dinah Small Burdoo - the last formerly enslaved person to live in Hampton. Read more on the Seacoast online.
