January IRL Recap

Thank you to our volunteers and to everyone we’ve met on the campaign trail who, against the backdrop of U.S. imperialism, ICE terrorizing our communities, and the ongoing affordability crisis, continue to show up and believe that better is necessary and possible.

It’s officially election year and our campaign is ramping up with a clear call to action, showing up for one another, and leading with integrity; all of which this moment, and our country, call for. Here’s a recap of how we kicked off 2026:

🚶‍♀️ Started the year at the monthly Jericho Walk

📍 Spent a day in CD-2, connecting with Granite Staters in Grafton County about what we’re hearing on the campaign trail and how I plan to show up for everyone in Congress

→ ✊ Joined a peaceful ICE Out for Good protest in Lebanon

→ 🏠 House party in Enfield (where we got married in 2012!)

→ 🎙️ Interview with The Dartmouth (shout-out, Izzy!)

📵 Invited other candidates in the race to join me for a Month Offline in February

🤝 Met with members of the Hampton area clergy

💬 Hosted a community conversation: Can Democracy Survive Social Media?

🕊️ Honored Dr. King at the MLK NAACP Breakfast in Portsmouth at South Church

👂 Continued my listening tour:

→ 🧠 Elephant in the Room conversation at the New Hampshire Theater Project on how families navigate addiction & recovery

→ 🏘️ January Home for All meeting that brought together local leaders, faith communities, businesses, developers, and residents working to ensure everyone has a safe, stable, and affordable place to call home across Rockingham and Strafford counties in NH and York County in Maine

→ 🏛️ Rockingham County Commissioners meetings on 1/22 and 1/29, including speaking during public comment to urge the county not to enter an agreement with ICE to house detainees at our county jail

👥 Gathered for our first volunteer meeting of 2026

🏠 Shared campaign plans and priorities at house parties in Portsmouth and Newmarket

📝 Published op-eds on Solidarity in the Face of ICE, US Imperialism and Intervention in Venezuela and calling on the Government to Investigate the Health Impacts of Living Near a Nuclear Power Plant

🏛️ Ended the month — in my capacity as Vice Chair of the Hampton Select Board — at Deliberative Session, pushing for the investments we need to serve our community (through public works, fire, police, and parks and rec) and keep property tax increases as low as possible so people can afford to live here
