Supporting NH Food pantries
Community is at the core of this campaign! To me, community is more than a talking point. It means showing up and helping our neighbors when they need it most.
While out campaigning this week, I stopped in at both the Hampton and Laconia food pantries, and both were running low on supplies. I was glad to bring what I could: toiletries, coffee, dish soap, and other everyday basics that make a real difference to families stretching every dollar they have.
With the cost of groceries, healthcare, and property taxes continuing to rise, putting food on the table is a genuine struggle for many New Hampshire families. The need often grows more acute in the summertime when kids are out of school and their parents scramble to add additional meals that otherwise were provided during the school day.
Making matters worse, the USDA under the Trump administration has been skipping food shipments. This is what happened in Laconia, and it was a crisis for many who count on the staples the USDA provides.
Food banks and pantries are filling that gap every single day, thanks to dedicated staff and volunteers who show up and serve their neighbors with care and dignity.
If you are in a position to give, I encourage you to reach out to your local food pantry and ask what they need. Every item can make a world of a difference. Care and thoughtfulness are things we need now more than ever.
Thank you to everyone volunteering and working at food banks across New Hampshire. And when you head to the polls, look for leaders who believe every person in this community deserves to live with stability and dignity. That starts with making sure no one goes hungry.
