Carleigh’s Statement on the Government Shutdown

This race in New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District could not be more important. Holding this seat is critical to flipping the House and breaking the Republican stranglehold that brought us here. Granite Staters deserve leaders who put people ahead of politics, and who will fight to keep the government open, protect health care access, and put working families first.

“The Ideas Program” - Learning from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard

Paul O’Connor and Carleigh share a passion and a history of working to promote collaboration, respect, and dignity at the jobsite. Whether it is for the graduate student workers who power institutions of higher learning or the men and women who build and maintain the US Navyʼs submarine fleet, leadership means working together to overcome fear, cliques, and partisanship, and build sustainable coalitions around our shared values.

Carleigh and her family love their little neighborhood of Surfside Park in Hampton. It is a place where neighbors sit out on each otherʼs porches and visit lemonade stands. People look out for each other, regardless of their political party or opinions on hot-button issues. It means so much to have the backing of the people who know her best.

Watch her share what sheʼs heard on the trail.

Today we honor the memory of those we lost and the bravery of those who answered the call to serve, often without a full understanding of the toll those decisions would take on them, their families, or our country. The tragedy of 9/11 continues to be compounded by choices that deepen division abroad and at home, and shape our politics and priorities.

Happy Labor Day!

New Hampshire runs on working people and strong unions. That’s why I recently joined the picket line with members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1837 to support them in their fight for a fair contract.

This week, IBEW Local 1837 will be holding two additional actions this Wednesday and Thursday to continue the fight for a fair first contract. I hope to see you there:

My kids started school yesterday, and my husband starts next week. Every morning, I hug them knowing that what has happened to other families and happened in Minnesota today could happen to us too.

Accountability for Survivors of the Sununu Youth Development Center

For decades, the state has sent troubled youth to the state-run Youth Development Center (YDC), also known as the Sununu Youth Services Center. But in recent years, nearly 2,000 victims have come forward with allegations of abuse they faced at the YDC, spanning decades.

Accountability and restitution for the survivors is long overdue.

Op-Ed: Gov. Ayotte's attacks on NH schools will be worse under Trump's 'Big Beautiful Bill'

Earlier this month, when Republicans in DC passed Trump’s ruthless and reckless budget bill, they voted to take away healthcare and food from families in order to give more tax breaks to literal billionaires and run up our national debt. Out of the many headline-grabbing policies in this Frankenstein’s monster of a bill, what’s gotten less attention is how the legislation nationalizes school vouchers as part of a larger agenda to defund and ultimately destroy public education across the country.
